... We would recommend this property. The owners take great care to make sure you have everything you need for a self catering trip, they also provide copious good advice verbally and written on the attractions of the area. Its also good value for money and its clear that they have clients that come back year after year which says it all really. We have travelled throughout Canada, the UK and Europe and stayed in dozens of accommodations of all kinds and we would be hard pressed to find one equal to the McKfolly Loft, St Peters Bay, PEI Canada. 5*****vrbo.com/555303 Oasis on the Bay ... This was our second stay at this lovely loft retreat. It is perfect for a couple. The location is tranquil and close to beautiful beaches. If you enjoy bike riding the location is very convenient as the Confederation Trail is in your backyard. The loft is fully equipped and the king-sized bed is very comfortable. You can fall asleep to the sounds of nature or if the night air is too warm, the a/c is a cool relief. The hosts are lovely and very considerate. Highly recommend. 5*****vrbo.com/555303 A true gem - perfect for couples … When we arrived at McKfolly Loft we were immediately struck by the peaceful tranquility of the property. It's located down a long laneway by no means is it difficult to find or too far away from amenities. John and Bev have taken great care in creating a perfect hideaway optimized for couples. It is very comfortable, modern and super-clean. We wanted for nothing; they supply everything from kitchen utensils to beach chairs and umbrellas, even reading material. The loft is flooded with natural light and has the added bonus of a/c - perfect for the PEI heat wave we experienced. I highly recommend McKfolly and hope to return. Well done John and Bev! Such a peaceful, beautiful place to spend a week. McKfolly has it all – sheer comfort and convenience – a gem. We recommend Greenwich and St. Peters Bay beaches and “Black and White” for a latte! 5*****vrbo.com/555303 Relaxing getaway … This rental had everything that we needed for a relaxing getaway. The Loft is fully equipped from start to finish. We cooked most of our meals and found everything that we needed. The bed was very comfortable and there was plenty of storage space for everything that we brought. The location is very private and quiet. Bev and John were great! The location is perfect to explore the eastern side of the island. We went to Cavendish one day and it only took 45 minutes. 5*****vrbo.com/555303...Wonderful stay at McKfolly loft We cannot say enough positive things about our week at McKfolly loft. The Loft was perfect, spotlessly clean and had everything we could possibly need. The king bed was incredibly comfortable, and the view of the water was lovely. On our first night we were treated to a spectacular thunder and lightning show. The kitchen was very well equipped and it was nice to have the washer/dryer as well. We couldn’t have been more comfortable.
Our hosts, John and Bev, were so welcoming, and we really enjoyed chatting with them about the Island. They were always available when we had questions, but very respectful of our privacy. They also provide a great binder loaded with info about the area.
While there, we had delicious meals at David’s (at the Crowbush golf course), Rick's Fish and Chips (St Peters) and 21 Breakwater (Souris). My husband really enjoyed his round of golf at The Links at Crowbush.

5*****vrbo.com/555303 Perfect retreat in St. Peters PEI ... Bev and John’s McKfolly Loft retreat was perfect in every way ... they have thought of everything to make a vacation memorable. I chose the McKfolly Loft due to its proximity to the Confederation Trail, as my husband and I were anxious to bike some sections of it. This location is ideal to do just that, as the Trail is just outside the Loft and it happens to be one of the most scenic parts of the Trail with many water views going in either direction. Bev and John were the best hosts imaginable, from a welcoming bottle of wine to picking up some plants for me when they went into Charlottetown!! They could not have been nicer and we are definitely going to return to this little paradise!! We had booked for 4 nights initially but ended up staying an extra night as the Loft was available and the weather was beautiful. 5*****vrbo.com/555303 Jewel in St. Peter's Bay ...... OK, if you like the picture, you'll love this loft above the home owners garage. Everything was top notch. This loft was so comfortable, it really has all the modern conveniences of home located on St. Peter's Bay. We enjoyed watching all the water fowl and our little fox buddy that would sometimes roam the open grassland close to the cottage (very elusive and more scared of us). We enjoyed Rick's Fish and Chips in St. Peter's and the fresh lobster roll and fresh oysters in Souris at the lobster shack. R&N, Sarnia, ON (September 2017)

5*****vrbo.com/555303 Best part of our East Coast Trip was staying at McKfolly ..... My husband and I stayed at the McKfolly loft for four days, at the tail end of our two-week East Coast vacation. If I could give this rental ten stars I would! Everything was perfect, especially the hosts John and Beverly, who gave us our space but were there when we had questions about PEI or the loft. They made wonderful recommendations on nearby beaches, places to eat or buy groceries and seafood. If there was anything missing they wanted us to let them know - but they thought of everything in advance. The loft was equipped with the highest quality items in the kitchen and throughout the loft, in excellent shape, and spotless. It was so comfortable and beautifully decorated. The king sized bed was unbelievably comfortable. Air conditioning is available, but we never had to use it, as there was a great cross-breeze with all the windows open at night. Such a restful sleep - it was soooo quiet there - heavenly! Bike and kayak rentals are available in nearby Morell and St. Peter's Bay, and the most picturesque part of the Confederation Trail is about 200 meters from the property. We spent an afternoon walking to Morell (not for the faint-hearted, it is 7.5 km each way). I would have liked to try a walk to the town of St. Peter's Bay (only 4 kms) but sadly we ran out of time at McKfolly. We would love to return to McKfolly for another stay next year, and would definitely recommend it to friends and family. Thanks so much John and Bev J&T, Barrie, ON (July 2017)

My husband and I stayed 4 days in this beautiful loft on the edge of St. Peter's Bay and the only negative thing I can say about our experience is "why didn't I stay longer?" The hosts John and Beverly are friendly who love the Island and are eager to share the beauty of PEI through their loving attention to the loft, their guests and in their recommendations. They are definitely "kindred spirits" and make the loft an even more enjoyable experience. Bev especially helped me with a wedding dress emergency and did a wonderful job! Thanks Bev! The loft itself is sun-filled due to the many windows everywhere. Every window has a gorgeous pastoral or water view and private. I enjoyed opening the windows and feeling the delightful breezes and smells of PEI. I especially loved the big window in the bathroom - I could take a shower with a view! The best view is from the balcony looking through the trees over St. Peter's Bay and seeing the white church in the background - unforgettable! The kitchen had everything you could possibly need for vacation cooking. The bed was firm and comfy - the linens were soft and I slept so well! I especially appreciated the reading lights. Everything was well thought out and placed perfectly. You can tell a lot of time and thought went into organizing this loft! I loved the privacy of this loft. I loved that I felt remote, but was actually very close to some great eateries like Rick's - THE BEST FISH N CHIPS EVER - make sure you get the haddock when in season- it literally melts in your mouth- no chewing required! We also ate at The Inn of Bay Fortune for their evening meal and it was well worth the money! A great experience! Also close to the confederation trail (which we didn't have time for this time!) and Greenwich National Park which is a must! After touring all over the Green Gables Shore, Charlottetown- I would com back to this part of the island and definitely to this loft. 5*****vrbo.com555303 Just what we needed ..... My wife and I decided to travel the east end of PEI, and after a bit of a search, landed an opening at McKfolly. Bev and John met us and ran through all the items at the loft that would help to make our stay more enjoyable. The loft was beautiful and spotless, and if it lacked anything, we couldn't name it. For cyclists, the roadway intersects the Confederation Trail. Sadly we didn't bring our kayaks (mistake), as there is an easy launch to the bay on their property. Bev and John are pleasant, fun to talk to, and have lots of tips about the local highlights. 5*****vrbo.com/555303 Stellar Stay! ..... We have rented many cottages around the world and this was one of our favourites. The loft is beautifully decorated and well equipped, flooded with natural light and with wonderful views of the bay. The kitchen made it easy to prepare meals and my husband especially appreciated the ease of barbecuing on the deck. Everyone agrees that the most beautiful stretch of the Confederation Trail is the section between Morell and St. Peters Bay: the cottage is ideally located for walking or cycling this portion. Nearby Greenwich Park offers good trails and sand beaches. There is easy access to many other points of interest, but it is also tempting to spend hours on the porch with a good book. It was such a treat to stay in a place that had a fully equipped kitchen! We were able to cook fabulous fresh seafood meals and enjoyed visiting the various nearby fish markets daily.The loft is close to the Confederation Trail so we often enjoyed an evening walk on the trail. It's also only a short drive to Greenwich National Park, our new favourite National Park. What a gem! We found the island beautiful and welcoming and the Loft to be a glorious home. Every comfort is at your fingertips and I have never slept in such a comfortable bed - just perfect! 5*****vrbo.com/555303 Wonderful Retreat in PEI ….. We spent a week at the McKFolly Loft in early September and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The accommodations were welcoming and Bev and John were very flexible to our schedule. They thought of everything that you could possibly need when designing the unit. The craftsmanship and usage of high end appliances, among other things, reflects Bev and John’s pride in ownership and commitment to ensuring a pleasant experience. We appreciated the picturesque views typical of PEI out the windows of the Loft, including a view of Saint Peter’s Bay. One morning, the field view out the kitchen window afforded us a fantastic birding opportunity. We observed several American Kestrels, a Northern Harrier and two Merlins working the field. On several occasions, we also viewed Bald Eagles soaring overhead; evidently a common occurrence on the island. We enjoyed Bev and John’s personal recommendations to local eateries and activities and very much appreciated the use of their Parks Canada pass. The time has come to say goodbye - we've enjoyed our week immensely. McKfolly's setting is idyllic. The studio is beautifully decorated and appointed. And then there's the "McKfolly Lanai" (screened porch) where I practiced Chi Kong faithfully - almost outside with breezes and fragrance flowing through. And it was such a pleasure waking in the morning with the fields and sky just outdoors, the crickets chirping and again - fresh fragrant breezes flowing through. It was spotless and had everything we needed: fully equipped kitchen, washer and dryer, two great outdoor areas to enjoy our morning coffees and evening drinks. The bed is very comfortable and the nightly breeze made for an awesome night's sleep. It was a bonus to have the Confederation Trail just steps from the property where we had our morning runs. I stayed there for four nights while I visited Central and Eastern PEI and found it a joy to return to in the evenings. The location is private and quiet, has a beautiful water view and one can recharge their batteries at McKfolly. The interior is totally comfortable, great bed, fully equipped kitchen, super bathroom. Everything is fresh and spotless. John has provided lots of information including maps for guest's use. Thank you Bev and John for your kindness and helpfulness. McKfolly Loft was exactly as in the photos; the description of amenities is accurate. There is nothing one could possibly want for that is not provided in this accommodation. There is no need to ever leave the Loft, except the beauty of the Island beckons through every window. The setting is stunning, the peace and solitude refreshing. There is so much to do at this end of PEI, with a wonderful bike trail at the door, and National Parks, great golf courses, local theatre and endless ocean activities close-by. 5*****vrbo.com/555303 A Very Special Place to Stay … The views from all angles are amazing. There are views across water and the sunset looks amazing. There are views across the fields. A very open aspect with a lovely lawned area on which to sit out and relax. Alternatively, sit out on the decked veranda and look out over the water. This loft suite did not disappoint and was better than we had imagined. New, clean, well equipped. An amazingly comfortable bed. Attention to detail by the owners, who made us so welcome and were keen to ensure we had everything we needed. Be prepared for the biting bugs and bring plenty of bug spray. This is to be expected, as the property is right next to water. It is a small price to pay and we wouldn't have wished to stay anywhere else. The property is on the eastern side of the island. Perfect for exploring all the wonderful beaches and pretty villages. If you like cycling, be sure to rent a bicycle from the Morell Tourist Information. They took great care of us and selected for us a couple of great bikes. The best route to take is the one to St Peters. Take a picnic - there are lovely areas along the route with picnic tables and fantastic views over the water. The route is about 10 miles (there and back). Charlottetown is only between half hour and 40 minutes drive away. It is a delightful Harbour town with so much to going on. Eat along the Victorian road next to the theatre, see Anne of Green Gables Musical (very good), do some shopping. A great day out. Be sure to get there for midday to see the free show - a musical about Canada's diverse heritage. If you are a couple wanting a quiet and very comfortable holiday, you will not be disappointed with the McKfolly Loft. Highly recommended. R & D, West Yorkshire, U.K. (July 2014)
